§ 01  ·  Our Story

Most campground software was built in a conference room. This wasn't.

"I grew up in a town of 120 people next to a family campground. Every summer for thirty years we ran reservations on paper and a clipboard. When I couldn't find software that actually fit how my parents ran the park, I built it."

I grew up in a small North Dakota town — population around 120 in the off-season — right across the road from a campground my family has owned and operated for years.

My wife and I spend our summers pulling a travel trailer across the country, staying at parks of every shape and size. We've seen firsthand what a great park looks like — and we've watched too many operators get ground down by software that was designed far from the campsite, priced like a tax on every booking, and supported by a 1-800 queue.

CampBase is the answer I wish my parents had. It handles reservations, the camp store, rentals, card-on-file, check-ins, group bookings, monthly billing — the whole park, on one system. And when something breaks or a new idea lands, our team moves on it fast — often the same day.

That's the promise. Software built by operators, for operators. No middle layer. No marketplace siphoning your guests. Just tools that work.

§ 02  ·  What sets CampBase apart

Four things your current software won't tell you.

01 — Ownership

Your guests are your guests.

CampBase is a pure operator tool. We don't run a competing marketplace that ranks parks against each other or lists "similar stays" on the booking page. Your direct bookings stay direct.

02 — Pace

Shipped. Not pitched.

Every feature on this page is in production today — not coming next quarter, not on a roadmap slide, not "contact sales" gated. If something useful comes up on a call, it usually ships that week. One team, one codebase, no handoffs between you and the people building it.

03 — Built-in

Reservations, POS, rentals, all one system.

The same platform that books sites also rings up firewood, tracks kayak rentals, keeps cards on file, charges monthly residents, and sends travel-party confirmation emails. No integrations. No seams. No extra monthlies.

04 — Support

Real people answer the phone.

When you call CampBase, you get someone on our team who knows the product inside and out — not a ticket queue, not a Tier-1 script. Feature requests ship in weeks, not quarters.

05 — Flexibility

Built to fit every park, not box you in.

A 20-site family park, a 300-site destination resort, a municipal or state campground — CampBase runs them all. Site types, rate structures, reporting, and workflows adapt to your operation, not the other way around. Whether you run one park or several, the system scales with you.

06 — Proof

Running in the real world, not a demo.

CampBase isn't a spec doc dressed up for sales calls. Every feature on this page has been stress-tested through a full operating season on a working campground — the founder's. Real reservations. Real guests. Real firewood sales.

§ 03  ·  Head to Head

CampBase vs. RoverPass.

We respect the competition — RoverPass built a strong product and a loud marketplace. But operators keep telling us the same three things: long-term contracts keep them stuck, the marketplace competes for their own direct guests, and feature requests disappear into a roadmap. Here's a plain comparison.

§ 04  ·  Features

Everything a park needs. Nothing it doesn't.

Online booking portal

Guest-facing site on your subdomain. Real-time availability, secure payment, travel-party details, and confirmation emails — all yours, not a marketplace listing.

Camp-store POS

Ring up firewood, ice, propane, laundry tokens. Swipe cards, open tabs, charge to site. Shared inventory with your rentals.

Rentals module

Kayaks, bikes, golf carts, cabins. Availability calendar, check-out / return workflow, and deposit handling — all inside the same system.

Card on file

Tokenize cards for monthly residents, no-show policies, incidentals, and repeat guests. Charge later, with a full audit trail.

Travel-party emails

Confirmation emails include every guest, every vehicle, every rental — auto-populated from the booking. Professional, clean, consistent.

Group organizer portal

Family reunions, caravan clubs, rallies. Multiple organizers, self-service member booking, and real-time roster for your front desk.

Real reports. Real numbers.

Occupancy by site type, revenue by source, arrivals by day, aging A/R. Export anything to CSV. Nothing hidden behind a "Pro" tier.

Modern payments — EPI ProCharge (2026).

CampBase is moving to a single integrated payments platform (EPI ProCharge, Fortis-based) — combining in-person POS, online booking, and card-on-file in one processor with one statement. Apple Pay, Google Pay, and webhook-driven reconciliation included.

LIVE · v5.1 in production

Not a pilot. Not a pitch deck. Running today.

CampBase has been running real reservations, real POS transactions, and real guest communications through a full operating season — built and refined on a working North Dakota campground before it was ever pitched to a second park.

§ 05  ·  Common Questions

The things operators actually ask us.

Most parks are live on CampBase in 2–4 weeks. We import your existing reservations, site inventory, and guest history ourselves — no spreadsheet wrangling on your end. Parks come online with hundreds of existing reservations already on the calendar and no loss of booking history.

Yes. CampBase gives every park its own branded subdomain (yourpark.campbase.io) or we can embed the booking widget into the website you already have. No competing marketplace. No "similar parks" cross-promotion. Your site, your guests, your brand.

You tell our team directly, and if it makes sense for the platform, it usually ships in the next update or two. The roadmap is responsive to actual operators — a lot of features on this page started as phone calls from park owners.

CampBase uses a flat monthly subscription based on park size (site count). Payment processing is passed through at cost. Any other fees are itemized up front, never buried. We'll walk through exact numbers for your park on the demo call.

Both. CampBase runs parks from a 20-site family campground up to destination resorts with hundreds of sites, and we work with municipal and state-operated parks too. The platform's features — reservations, POS, rentals, group bookings, card-on-file billing, multi-user permissions — scale with you. On the demo call we'll walk through the specific workflows that fit your operation.
